Isabel Guerrero holds a PhD in Arts and Humanities from the University of Murcia (Spain). Her research focuses on Shakespeare in contemporary performance, with special interest on Shakespeare’s presence in theatre festivals, from official to fringe and off festivals. Her recent publications include the co-edition of the volumen Estudios Teatrales: nuevas perspectivas y visiones comparadas (EDITUM, 2017) and the articles “Shakespeare in La Mancha: Performing Shakespeare in the Almagro Corral” (SEDERI Yearbook, 2017) and “A Festival Blockbuster: Romeo and Juliet at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Avignon Off” (Romeo and Juliet in European Culture, ed. John Benjamins, 2017). She has also worked on Ibsen in performance, Max Reinhardt and violence in the theatre. She holds a degree on Stage Directing from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (Murcia, Spain) and English Studies from the Universidad de Murcia. She is one of the co-founders of CIJIET (Congreso Internacional de Jóvenes Investigadores en Estudios Teatrales). She is currently a member of the faculty at the Universidad Isabel I and the UNIR.
