Let us have a dialogue with the nation: (On dramaturgy in the National Theatre : On Dramaturgy in the National Theatre

Resumen

Can an institution have a dialogue? And what if that institution carries an adjective “national” in its name? As a dramaturg of the National Theatre, I have asked myself many times in my praxis as well as in my theoretical thinking, what forms of dialogue should we enter as an important institution with a wide range of audience. I was always looking for ways how to address the audience but also for way how to listen to their needs, or even questions. In my article I try to introduce all possible forms of dialogue we explored, and to which extend we succeeded, and how.
